I'm sorry when I revisied the recipe I had changed buttermilk to half-half and lemon juice, but forgot to make this change in the instructions.  I liked the texture and flavor better using the half-half and lemon juice vs. the buttermilk.
In the recipe the amounts for the lemon juice and half-half and to used in place of the buttermilk.
I hope you enjoy! I made these for my husbands employees on his birthday and they loved them!
