1. Pretty good jar

   Holds welllll over 50 beans. I bought this for a half pound of beans (about 50) and there was a lot of extra space. There were a few noticeable imperfections in the glass and I was a little disappointed to learn it was made in China, since even Crate & Barrel's cheaper glassware pieces are made in the EU and flawless. All in all, a pretty good jar for beans. It was way bigger than I imagined, though, so plan to be able to store more than 50 beans in it (probably something more like 75-100 are possible).

   I just received the jar and vanilla beans so the beans have only been stored in the jar for a couple weeks. Can't speak to long term but so far, so good. As great as these vanilla beans are I am not sure how long ill be storing them!

   Very nice looking jar, thick glass. The lid fits a little flimsy for my standards. Can not attest to "keeping moist" abilities yet.

    The jar is a nice size for storing vanilla beans, however it is not air tight. The seal around the lid is made of stiff plastic and it has a hole punched on each side, presumably to allow the hard plastic to have enough give to fit down into the jar. The one that was shipped to me also had a nasty imperfection in the glass. The tape on the top of the box had been removed. My quess is that the item had been returned by another dissatisfied customer.

    I love it. I made vanilla with volka, in the volka bottle and transferred it to the cubica clear glass bottle, 7 oz. w/swingtop. Gave some away for gifts and used some myself, the flavor is wonderful. Best vanilla I have ever used. Never go back to store bought. Got the jar so I could make vanilla with burbon and than rum. So much fun and easy to make my own. The cost to buy store vanilla is 3 to 4 times, to the cost of making your own.

    Nice looking and an a nice seal but I think the glass is a little thin. I am afraid that if is gets tiped over it might break.

    The jars were purchased as per suggestion for proper storage of my vanilla beans. These jars were perfect! Tall, holds 40-60 vanilla beans and the seal is air tight. Looks great on my counter that is not exposed to direct or too much light as was instructed. I bought an additional one as a gift for friend who shares my love of vanilla beans for various cooking and baking uses. And, she adores the jar as well. It was a good suggestion and a great product. I highly recommend it for vanilla bean storage.

    I think the jar is great, but after receiving it, I found one pretty close to the one I received and it was 3.00 cheaper. Seemed to be the same quality as far as I could see. Other than that I loved it.

    Jar seems like it should be good for holding beans.. downside is the glass has probably a dozen flaws in it, some bigger than others. Definitely not top (or really even mid-) quality.
