Gulf Arabic Vocabulary - The Colours
The plural forms below are used for animate objects (people, etc.). Use the feminine singular as plural for inanimate objects.
Examples: is-sayyaara il-7amra – the red car is-sayyaaraat il-7amra – the red cars (Note: mootir = sayyaara)
il-mootir il-aswad – the blue car il-mawaatir is-sooda – the blue cars
il-ba7ar il-azrag – the blue sea il-bi7aar iz-zarga – the blue seas
hadhaylayn rayaayiil sood. humma min soodaan – These men are black. They are from Sudan.
bunni, bunniya, bunniyiin – brown rumaadi or resaassi – grey burtugaali - orange banafsaji - purple
faate7 - light ghaamig - dark axDar fate7 - light green axDar ghaamig - dark green
