This sugar is a bit of a cross between white sugar and brown sugar in flavor. Clean with hints of caramel.
Turbinado sugar is also considered a healthier alternative to either. The sugar is barely processed as the raw sugarcane is spun in a turbine to form light crystals. It can be used as a substitute for brown sugar due to the flavor and moisture content, but not for white.
